Empowering Learning with a Library
Original Library in Ewaso Ngiro comprised mostly of handwritten manuscripts and a few recycled textbooks.
The library has been built out to provide more space for books, learning, and a small computer lab for the community and sponsored students to utilize. The library also contains copies of textbooks required for secondary education, allowing the girls to rent them for the year to overcome the additional cost.
CONTINUING IMPROVEMENT AND ACCESS WITH THE ADDITION OF COMPUTERS
A word from John on the library’s usage as of Nov 2016, “Just to mentioned our library is getting congested almost every day as many students are coming from different villages to study! our computers classes scheduled to start in January 2017 we are negotiating with the teacher and it’s likely you would be able to award certificates of completion to our first computer graduates through MCESP/KCEA in June.”
