MISSION

To provide material support for community-based initiatives that expand educational opportunities, provide health services, and strengthen local economies.

Kenya Community Education & Action (KCEA) is a non-profit organization that achieves its mission in partnership with Maasai Community Education and Support (MCESP), a community based organization. MCESP provides support throughout the Rift Valley with Educational Scholarship Programs, Life Skills Conferences, and Community Enrichment Projects.

Who we are.

  • Stephen Shaw

    FOUNDER : KCEA

    Stephen, a Harvard-educated physician who recently retired from a career running a medical research laboratory at the U.S National Institutes of Health, became progressively more involved in working with John after meeting him in 2008. Stephen helped found KCEA to make it easier for anyone to share the joy of helping.

  • Amy Steffy

    BOARD MEMBER

    Amy met John Keshe while on a medical mission trip in 2011 and was introduced to the work that he and his wife were doing within Maasai villages. Ongoing trips to Kenya became focused on working with the Keshes to increase student sponsorship and community impact through KCEA. Amy has visited with several villages, met many families and spent time with students in their homes, schools and at KCEA workshops which has only grown her passion for KCEA.

  • Dan Hessel

    BOARD MEMBER

    Dan is a Navy veteran that has been in the medical industry since 1982 and met John Keshe on a clean water mission through Connection Point Christian Church in 2011. He has been on the board of KCEA since its inception and enjoys working with the team to provide for the educational and social needs of the Maasai community.

  • John Ole Keshe

    FOUNDER : MCESP

    John and his wife, Peris founded MCESP in 2002. They both continue to work diligently alongside KCEA to provide education to young women in Kenya.
