KCEA Responds to Fire

Four of the students that KCEA supports attend Ole Ntutu Arid Zone Primary School. Ten days ago, at 7PM a damaging fire swept through a dormitory at that school that sleeps 56 students. Fortunately, the girls were in class and were unharmed; but many of their belongings ( including mattress, trunk and school uniform) were destroyed.

The school leaders immediately sought help from people and institutions they trusted, including John Keshe and KCEA.  John and KCEA responded quickly to both the emotional and financial needs.  John led a 3 day guidance and counseling session, to address the loss and insecurity felt by students and staff alike.  Within 3 days, KCEA sent $1000 in financial assistance to provide for KCEA students and many more.

KCEA's emergency financial response was based on confidence that our remarkable supporters will donate when they can (at kceakenya.org); such donations will replenish our finances which have been depleted by major drought relief in 2021 and the 2022 car purchase.

Happily, “healing" is underway. John has sent pictures of smiling students getting new supplies such as trunks, blankets, and mattresses. The school has warmly thanked us "so sincerely for your/KCEA emergency support to the school during the fire accident at our school, both sponsored and non-sponsored students benefited with your generous donation…we appreciate and God bless you."
