Meeting Lanoi’s Urgent Need

This semester John Keshe appealed urgently to us on behalf of Lanoi, a girl from Ilmorijo village.

<< Lanoi by her home

John explained: "Lanoi has graduated from grade 8 and hoped to join secondary school this year. … Her parents found a reason to marry her off immediately, something Lanoi protested bravely and she ran to the nearby school teacher's house for rescue, Teacher Lilian reached my office (KCEA) for an urgent rescue,I took the action to visit the family at their Ilmorijo village, It took us 6 hours meeting convincing the family that girl preferred going to school instead of an early plan marriage at the age of 17.Eventually after a long meeting they agreed to let the girl go to school if there is support… Today I visited olkiriane secondary school … and I successfully got her a place ... Lanoi is the first born of the family of 8 kids."

Lanoi’s Family

Although KCEA is financially very constrained (by major drought relief in 2021 and the 2022 car purchase), we deemed her situation to be exceptional and accepted her. She was happily welcomed by fellow KCEA students at Olkiriane Secondary School 10 days later.
