Joy as the Land Cruiser Arrives

The long-awaited day arrived when John brought the new Land Cruiser back to Ewaso Ngiro. Previously, visiting the students' villages and facilitating the girls’ school travel has been a challenge (over the last 8 years), John drove the small (and increasingly unreliable) 1999 KCEA RAV4 more than 200,000 miles! Thanks to the enormous generosity of KCEA supporters, KCEA ‘dug deep’ emotionally and financially during the last year to buy a wonderful new vehicle: a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup truck converted into a rugged 8-passenger vehicle. The process of purchase, conversion, licensing and insuring has been a formidable one taking more than three months. But there is GREAT joy now that this dream of suitable transportation is finally realized. This vehicle symbolizes KCEA’s long-term commitment to girls’ education in this wonderful Maasai community
